    Add Fire Fitting

    If your tank water will be used for fire fighting purposes, select the state appropriate fire kit. Fire kits comply with most council and shire requirements for areas in chosen state where water tanks are used for fire protection.

    ✔ QLD Fire Kit includes installation of 50mm outlet, 50mm ball valve, camlock adaptor and dust cap to comply with council and shire requirements for areas needing water tanks for fire protection.
    ✔ NSW Fire Kit includes installation of 50mm outlet, 50mm ball valve, 65mm Storz adaptor and dust cap to comply with most council and shire requirements for areas in NSW needing water tanks for fire protection.
    ✔ VIC Fire Kit includes installation of 65mm outlet, 65mm ball valve, 64mm CFA adaptor and dust cap to comply with most council and shire requirements for areas in Victoria needing water tanks for fire protection.

    Add High-Flow

    Select to have Kingspan's optional High-Flow system installed. This system provides a 100mm inlet at the side of your tank (which is good if you can't run downpipes into the top of your tank due to height restrictions), and can handle flow rates up to 600l/min while filtering your rainwater. An inlet strainer that can handle high flow-rates will be included in any case. Only add if you know what it is, otherwise you don't need it.

    • High-Flow Filter:
    ✔ Kingspan High-Flow Filter will be installed inside your tank at your desired position (exteral parts provided loosely). It includes a 100mm Inflow and 100mm Overflow on the same side of tank, making it ideal for wet systems (where pipework comes up out of the ground next to your tank). This system can handle flow rates up of 600l/min while providing you with better rainwater filtering. Kingspan's High-Flow Filter may not suit every situation. Please allow 800mm space on the side High-Flow will be installed. NOTE: 400mm Inlet is still required as a maintenance hole, but a cover can be included (select "High-Flow System w/ 400mm Inlet Cover").
    ✔ Kingspan High-Flow Filter w/ Inlet Cover. The High-Flow will be installed inside your tank at your desired position (exteral parts provided loosely).   • Tank Fitout (if known)

    Note: Included in each tank build is 1x 25mm outlet (base of tank), 1x 25mm ball valve, 1x 400mm inlet strainer + UV light guard (on top of tank), 1x 100mm moulded overflow.

    Ball Valve Position

    25mm Ball Valve Outlet is located at the very bottom wall of your tank and is where you will access water from your tank and/or connect to external pump. Note: A 25mm outlet is required on all tanks for manufacturing and testing purposes.

    IMPORTANT: The included 25mm Outlet with Ball Valve is highly recommended on every tank as this is the only size outlet that can sit at the lowest point (first corrugation high on tank wall) allowing water to be fully drained should such ever be required. 

    Inlet Strainer Position

    400mm Inlet Strainer is located on top of your tank and is often best positioned closest to the downpipes from the gutter. It is a mandatory requirement as it doubles as a maintenance hole for inspecting and accessing inside your tank.

    Overflow Position

    100mm Overflow is located at high up on the wall of your tank and best positioned closest to the stormwater drainage point. Note: 100mm is the standard overflow size. If you need 90mm, then we recommend a 100mm to 90mm reducer when procuring your pipework.

    IMPORTANT: Overflow is highly recommended on every tank to avoid water overflowing at inlet strainer. Only select "Not Required" if absolutely sure.

    Highflow Position

    Kingspan's Highflow has a 100mm inflow (higher) and 100mm overflow (lower) located on the wall of your tank, which is normally best positioned closest to your rainwater charge line and stormwater drainage. NOTE: Please ensure your inlet isn't positions at the same side as your high-flow (as it will clash when installing).

    Fire Outlet Position

    Fire outlet is located at the bottom wall on the side of your tank that is easily accessible by firefighters.

    Evolution Pump Position

    Evolution Pump System is located at the top of your tank and can be positions in any 1-12 location. Recommended a location nearest to plumbing on the wall next to your tank. Note: Can't be had at same location as your inlet strainer.Evolution Pump System is located at the top of your tank and is normally placed at either E or F (~600mm in from end of tank). You can also place it at A, B or C if that works better for you. Choose a location nearest to plumbing on the wall next to your tank. Note: Can't be had at same location as your inlet strainer. Tank Base Requirements

Aquaplate Steel Tanks must be installed on a firm, stable base that is 100mm longer and wider than your tank dimensions to ensure all edges of the tank are supported. Keep in mind that 1000 litres = 1000 kg (1 tonne) and this is a significant force.

A reinforced concrete slab is the recommend and most reliable base for these tanks. More detailed information about preparing a suitable base your your new tank can be found in Kingspan's Tank Base Preparation Guide (PDF 98 KB).

What are Base Colours and Painted Colours?

Base colours are the colours that the Aquaplate (colorbond) steel sheets are purchased into the factory as. Painted Colours are also offered by Kingspan, which provides a larger selection of colours that are professionally painted on at the tank facility.

An inner poly layer is fabricated to a galvanised steel substrate, while the outer layer consists of a COLORBOND® or laminate coating. I ordered a $20 item plus transport from Tank Shop.
It arrived in Melbourne 2 days later and sat in the transport company’s warehouse for 2 weeks, waiting for delivery 15km away! Malessa at Tank Shop rang and emailed them each day of the second week, along with my emails to them to speed up delivery. Tank Shop offered a replacement item, sent by another transport company the day before the item arrived. Really? For the few dollars profit on my sale, Tank Shop’s customer service is like nothing I’ve experienced. Absolutely brilliant!! 12/10
