Water Tank Cleaning
The Australian Department of Health advises cleaning the sludge out your rainwater tanks every 2–3 years as part of proper tank maintenance. Thankfully a range of products exist to vacuum out sediment from your tank base and minimise this problem.
What is Sludge? Over time fine sediment and bits of organic matter find their way into a water tank, even through strainers and screens. This settles at the bottom eventually turning into a dark and thick sticky substance referred to as "sludge". Learn more about How to Manage Sludge Build-Up in Rainwater Tanks
