4mm Aluminium Gutter Mesh is a bushfire compliant mesh, meaning it is a safe, non-combustible material that can be used in bushfire zones as gutter guard. Only 2mm mesh is "ember guard compliant" though and will keep embers out of your gutters. Blue Mountain's 2mm aluminium mesh is compliant to BAL 12.5, 19 and 29, while 2mm steel mesh provides maximum defence against ember attack being compliant to all BALs (12.5, 19, 29, 40 and FZ).

Corrugated Mesh Installation

- Clean out all gutters to remove leaves and debris, before fitting mesh.
- Roll the mesh out along the gutter edge. INSTALLATION TIP: Screw the mesh to the gutter at both ends to hold the mesh in place.
- Place the standard or Mesh Lock trim over the mesh. The mesh should rest under and against the front edge of the trim. Secure by placing a metal screw in every pre-made hole. Do not over tighten the metal screws. (INSTALLATION TIP: As a guide, tighten the screw to the point where the rubber washer begins to compress.)
- Create a flap/tag in the mesh to mould it to the corrugation. To do this, cut two slits about 20mm apart and approximately 30mm long over every second rib.
- Place the saddle over the flap/tag and secure using a metal screw. Do not over tighten the metal screws. INSTALLATION TIP: As a guide, tighten the screw to the point where the rubber washer begins to compress. For best results, use the mesh as a string line to keep the saddles straight.
Joining mesh
When joining two pieces of mesh, overlap the mesh by 20mm. Place a metal screw through the centre of the overlap. Fasten until the overlap pulls together.
Corners
Cut the mesh around the edge of the ridge capping. Overlap the mesh above the gutter and join using a metal screw.

- 1/4 inch magnetic setter bit
- Brush, vacuum or leaf blower (for cleaning gutters prior)
- Ladder or trestles & plank
- Personal protective equipment (PPE including eye protection, gloves, UV protection, footwear, fall restraint device, etc.)

- Please read all instructions carefully and completely before commencing the installation.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) including appropriate clothing when handling and working with gutter mesh and gutter mesh componentry.

- Only use the recommended componentry and accessories. Use of non-recommended items may create a hazard and will void the warranty of the product.

It arrived in Melbourne 2 days later and sat in the transport company’s warehouse for 2 weeks, waiting for delivery 15km away!
